DIGITAL JOURNALING WORKSHOP
REST & REFUGE
LED BY OUR FOUNDER LAURA L. RUBIN
Look, it’s a lot out there right now.
In workshops, messages, 1:1 sessions and beyond, we hear that our community is feeling a lot of feelings: beyond burnt out, demoralized, exhausted, stressed out, concerned, perplexed, gobsmacked…the list goes on. Pretty much the opposite of “calm, cool and collected.” Sound familiar? Okay, so this mindful journaling experience is for you.
Our founder, Laura L. Rubin, recently led a version of this workshop for a private group of social and climate change activists and found it so relevant to the times we’re collectively experiencing that she wanted to make it widely available. So we are.
This guided writing session is an invitation to step out of constant motion and learn how to restore yourself from the inside out, and the outside in.

“Rest & Refuge” helps soothe frayed nervous systems so we can feel better, both mentally and physically. Not to turn away from the complexities of our times, but rather to develop better personal resources with which to meet them.
We’ll name the different kinds of rest we need and explore how to intentionally weave them into our days. We’ll also look at what refuge means in practice; how to find or build places that allow us to exhale, reset, and feel safe enough to return to the world replenished. You’ll leave with a greater sense of awareness around your personal rhythms, along with tools to support yourself when life feels particularly demanding.
The workshop is an interactive 75-minute session (recorded for those who can't make it and/or want to revisit the material). No one will be asked to read aloud (though sharing is always welcome).
